MODEL CITIZEN is a satirical commentary on the commercial modeling industry and that follows the journey of twelve commercial models as they compete in a competition hosted by modeling agency, All-American Models. Accused of being prejudiced, the agency organizes the most inclusive competition of all time... with just one winner. The lucky finalists are subjected to all manner of challenges, ultimately being judged on their ability to make the good folks at home want to buy stuff. Emotions run high and alliances form as the models are forced to ask the question of how far they're willing to go to live in the USA.

Having spent the best part of a decade working as a commercial model, I’ve always wanted to bring to light the humor lurking in an industry that takes itself incredibly seriously. Every day, hopeful commercial models young and old are subjected to all manner of conditions, often being treated with all the respect of a talking prop, all the while being paid close to minimum wage for many jobs. For every billboard-worthy photo shoot and every TV-worthy commercial, there are hundreds of bizarre shoots that never see the light of day and thousands of models that never work at all. Suffice it to say, when you combine the pressure of commercial modeling with the pressure of getting a green card (a process I've also endured), sparks are sure to fly.
